Ok !!
So I have less than four weeks to hand in all my final course work! Visual Literacy, Elementary Animation, Dynamic communication and Introduction to Audio!!
Four subjects!
Four weeks!!
Thought I would showcase what I've done so far and what I've got to do!
Visual Literacy
We have four photoshop drawings to do, each expressing different techniques, different views on colour, shape, perspective, texture etc. I've not yet comp
leted even 2 of my drawings but this is what I have so far!
I've taken my car an object, what im going to do with him is to adapt the colour and use various textures to bring the car alive! I want him to look like a wee
bug or something because .... well he already does look like a bug! So I want to emphasize that. I've scanned in different objects with interesting textures
what im going to use!

he sharp edges, they different scales of colour that the glass produces! dont think im going to do much editing to this photo, just make it look better slightly!

The next exciting adventure we have for vis comm is taking a book (or a poem for me) and take a character and scene and express it in the way we see it! I have chosen a fantastic poem by Craig Raine called "a martian sends a postcard home". There are many images that this poem creates and I've done some artwork for a few!
This lovely piece needs some work! its slightly bigger but my scanner isnt big enough! the part of the poem is "Model T is a room with the lock inside - a key is turned to free the world". Model T was the first ford car to go into the production and the "key is turned to free the world" means the engine of the car starting when the key is turned! I think im gong to further this picture for the finished piece!
The other one ive done is from the final part of the poem. "At night, when all the colours die, they hide in pairs, and read about themselves in colour, with their eyelids shut"
This selection means when people go to bed in pairs they dream! so I've done a drawing of people in their bed and the martian at the bottom and the coloured clouds above their heads are their dreams! . I really like this concept! its about 50/50 between the other one, not sure which one i will use, however i really do like the model t one!!
I've tried to express the martian as a little boy, the whole poem feels very much like a child detailing the objects so this is where i get this idea from. Also through out the poem there are alot of references to night and darkness so i want these images to be very dark, almost dreamy like!
Elementary to animation
So! what i'm doing for this is taking the words "Depress", "Spring" and "Salsa"!! we need to animate the words to describe themselves basically! So all the letters in depress are all going to be ... depressed haha! and then the R is going to jump off a cliff, basically committing suicide. Then you'r going to see the R falling, then going off screen then SPRINGING back onto the screen, with the R from depRess into spRing !!! so then the spring is going to spring up and down on the screen then they get to a cliff and the PRING is going to fall off the cliff while the S stays safe! Theeeeen the S will produce the SALSA !!! and they all start dancing haha!!
Im in the middle of the animatic! My scanner is acting up so making things very difficult but i SHALL get it done!!
Dynamic Communication !!
Oh god !! where do I begin! I think what we're ment to do is create a project where the final piece much be interactive and have a topic (or SEED !!!) that the thing must incorporate. My SEED !! is how technology has had an effect on the environment !! How its benefited and the environment and the oposite. Basically, what im going to do is create a Tree !! and off the tree branches are going to be wee bushes and when you click on them a document pops up with a bit of information on each thing!

Introduction to Audio
Pretty simple! we have an audio file we much edit to make it sound like theres no muck ups in it! Then we have an advert to make! all are coming along nicely!!
